On June 25, 2025, the Post(Wars) Research Center at the Institute of International Studies hosted a joint workshop with the team of the ERC-funded project Leviathan, based at the Institute for the History of Medicine at Charité Berlin. The project looks at how medicine and social policy helped shape postwar European societies and new forms of governance after 1945.

Charles University has received another large financial injection for its research. Michal Smetana from the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University has been awarded a grant from the European Research Council (ERC) of more than one million euros for his MICROCODE project, which will study the stability of military alliances.

On 21 March, a new research alliance between Prague, Paris and Lviv (IMS FSV UK, EHESS, Center for Urban History) will be officially launched. The research alliance is a place for the emergence and structuring of new scientific dynamics born of the transformations linked to the Russian war against Ukraine.
